The academic master's degree program in Forestry and Agriculture Economic Management is based on the discipline of the same name at the College of Economics and Management, Zhejiang A&F University. The program was authorized as a secondary discipline for master's degree in Forestry Economic Management in 2003, began enrolling students in 2004, was approved as a primary discipline for master's degree in Forestry and Agriculture Economic Management in 2011, started enrolling students under the primary discipline in 2012, and was approved as a primary discipline for doctoral degree in Forestry and Agriculture Economic Management in 2018.
Master's candidates in Forestry and Agriculture Economic Management are required to have a solid grasp of basic theories in economics, management, resource and environmental economics, and theories and policies of forestry and agricultural economics. They should systematically master methods of socio-economic surveys and be proficient in basic skills of econometric analysis. The goal is to cultivate professional talents in forestry and agricultural economic management who are adaptable to the needs of economic and social development, possess solid foundations in economic and management theories and systematic knowledge, and have strong practical social capabilities and innovative spirit. Graduates are mainly employed in higher education institutions, research institutes, government departments, or large state-owned enterprises.
