The discipline of Accounting in Zhejiang A&F University was established in 1993. It is currently a university-level cultivated discipline and offers a provincial first-class undergraduate program in Accounting and a Master's program in Accounting (MPAcc). It has three distinctive research directions: Financial Accounting and Auditing, Financial Management, and Resource and Environmental Accounting. The discipline includes one research institution, the Institute of Accounting, and is affiliated with the Forestry Branch of the Zhejiang Institute of Accountants and the Accounting Association of Zhejiang A&F University.
The discipline has 21 full-time teachers, including four professors and six associate professors. The number of doctoral degree holders (including doctoral candidates) reaches 14, accounting for 70% of the total. There are three doctoral supervisors and seven master's supervisors. The discipline has a high-level faculty team composed of "Zhejiang Provincial Teaching Masters," "Third-Level Talents of Zhejiang Province's 151 Talent Project," "Young and Middle-aged Discipline Leaders of Zhejiang Province's Higher Education Institutions," "Deputy Directors of the Teaching Instruction Committee for Business Administration of Zhejiang Province's Higher Education Institutions," winners of the university's "Outstanding Teaching Teacher" special award and "My Ideal Teacher" award, as well as outstanding teachers who are registered accountants, registered asset appraisers, and international registered internal auditors.
The discipline adheres to the principles of cultivating students' moral character and integrating disciplinary professionalism. It emphasizes the cultivation of highly applied accounting professionals who are proficient in accounting, auditing, and financial management, and possess innovative and entrepreneurial spirit. The Accounting program offers two directions: Corporate Accounting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and also provides a special program for ACCA Elite Class for international certified accountants. Through initiatives such as collaborative education between the university and enterprises, bringing in industry elites such as chief financial officers of listed companies into the classroom, as well as practical training in manual accounting simulation, comprehensive accounting simulation, and cross-disciplinary virtual simulation, the discipline strengthens students' problem-solving abilities in real-life scenarios. By deeply integrating innovation and entrepreneurship education with professional education and adopting a practice-oriented approach through research and innovation projects, financial and accounting information technology, and interdisciplinary competition, the discipline significantly enhances students' practical skills and professional competence in accounting. The Accounting program is highly popular among students and has consistently enrolled students above the admission threshold in recent years, reaching 100%.
